Planning is underway

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas!  Except we are going to Brighton, which doesn't normally get snow til February, and alas, I cannot afford to hang around and wait for it.  But snowy or snowless, we are going to have a wonderful time.  I have been planning this trip for years - thank you, covid - so have many, many, many plans to execute.  And I will execute them flawlessly despite the limitations I face, such as time, money and the complete indifference of the rest of my family.  I'd leave them behind, but I want them in the photos.

The trip is a frenetic race around the hotspots - or appallingly cold spots if the weather reports are anything to go by - of Europe.  The itinerary is as follows (and you can spare me your commentary as my parents have already expressed their horror.  I KNOW it is too much in too short a timeframe.  But it is what it is.  You may picture me travelling to the background music of Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee):

Dec 7th: Fly to Gatwick.  Visit my sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews and niece.

Dec 9th-22nd: Rome, Florence, Venice, Vienna, Munich, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Nuremberg, Strasbourg, Paris.  I will visit a different Christmas market in each city!

Dec 23rd-27th: London, Brighton, Christmas and as many West End shows as we can squeeze in.

Dec 28th: Fly home.  Spend next week recovering.

I am very much looking forward to it (well, not the flights.  But the rest of it!) and I have already booked all our accommodation, our train travel, and our Top Sights To See.  The next month will be one of anticipation and glee.  Rejoice with me!
